What is Legal Hold?
Legal Hold is a paid retention commitment for file payloads
(the actual photos, videos, and documents in your vault) so they stay available
for a hold period instead of aging toward deletion on maturity schedules.
It is not the same as sealing your journal, and it is
not the free court integrity printouts (Print Blockchain / Ladder / ChainMail).
Cryptographic proof (hashes, chain links, free integrity packages) is designed to outlive
convenience deletes; hold is about keeping the bytes available when counsel needs them.
